Watching the news for the past few weeks has given us a fresh insight into end time prophecy. The sudden revitalization of the Soviet nation has made even the most non- religious person have second thoughts of their intentions. The battle against Georgia has appeared to have a bully mentality against the small nation who wants to be free, democratic, and a member of NATO. All hopes of any of those three has been crushed by the Russian tanks and troops.
When the Soviet Union went down into financial collapse at the beginning of the 1990's, few would have thought the finding of oil and the rise of the price per barrel would give the Russian empire a new place in world political affairs. Now they seem poised to show the strength of the Russian “bear” again.
All of these events were known by God when He gave a word to the prophet Ezekiel about the coming invasion by Russia against Israel. Carefully outlined in chapters 38 and 39, God tells of a Russian invasion against the Jewish nation, which will cover the skies and darken the land. A massive attack against God's people will seem to have an ending that would see the Jewish nation destroyed. Yet, God will intervene. Such a huge defeat will be given to the Russian empire that it will take Israel seven years to bury the dead from this battle. Most scholars believe this is the time period of the tribulation and the timing of the invasion will be at the end of the Church age and the beginning of the seven years of tribulation. We could be very close.

When the children of Israel left Egypt, they were told by God to eat the Passover lamb before the evening was over and before they crossed the Red Sea. Psalm 105:37 tells us when they left Egypt and entered the wilderness there was not one feeble one among the entire two million. Not one person was sick. This could not have been true before they ate the lamb. They had worked for four hundred years in slavery and existed under the worst conditions. There must have been sick people, infirmed people as well as many who were blind, deaf, and filled with the same diseases that exist today.
What brought the children of Israel to the place where there were no sick or feeble ones in the entire congregation? It had to have happened at this meal just before crossing. We know the lamb is a type of Jesus, our Passover Lamb slain for us. The meal represents salvation, making Jesus a part of your life through faith. The people were not told to only eat their favorite part of the lamb, but to eat it all. They even had to eat the inner parts, the organs and intestines. Nothing was allowed to be left until the next morning. Think about it. Blind people had to eat the lamb’s eyes. Deaf people had to eat the lamb’s ears. People with heart conditions had to eat the lamb’s heart.
Jesus told his disciples to eat all of the communion elements. He said the bread represented His body, all of it! When we were saved, we also entered into the covenant of healing. Whatever part of you is sick, you have eaten that part of the body of Jesus through faith the moment you were saved. Jesus’ eyes are your eyes, His ears are your ears and whatever part of your body is sick, He has made whole. Accept your healing right now. Jesus was made sickness on the cross and through His stripes you have been made whole!
