Matthew 9:5:
For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?
Have you ever put limits on God? We seem to limit God in the same way we limit ourselves. If we can't do it, we think that God can't do it either. Often we view God's ability through the eyes of our own experiences or circumstances. If a situation or circumstance appears more difficult to us, we think it is more difficult for God.
We were saved instantly but it may have taken time to receive our healing, therefore we reason that it is more difficult for God to heal than to forgive sins. The real difficulty is in our own minds.
Romans 8:32 says He that spared not His own son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? If all things have been freely given to us, how can one thing be more difficult to accomplish in our lives than another? Healing and forgiveness come from the same hand of grace. The problem is not with God who gives freely, but with us who receive. Again, the difficulty lies in the perception of our own minds.
What's Your Problem?
In what areas of your life have you put limits on God? Do you believe it was easy for God to save you and forgive your sins, but it is more difficult for Him to meet your financial need? How about delivering your children? Can God really work in the life of your husband?
Insert your problem into Jesus' statement. Which is easier to say, your sins are forgiven or your children are delivered from drugs? Your sins are forgiven or your husband is serving the Lord? Take the limits off God and see your children delivered, your spouse living for God and your finances coming in. If God has freely given, all you need to do is freely receive. Act like God's Word is true!
Do you act like your children are delivered and your husband is serving God? Quit preaching to them and treating them like they are still in the problem. If you have asked God for deliverance and believe His Word, speak to them as if they understand. Quit criticizing and speaking down to them. Treat them as a spiritual equal and watch the Holy Spirit begin His work in them! How simple faith is!
